Icons for Frontex HQ
While working with Foxrabbit I was asked to design icons for the signage system in the new Frontex (European Border and Coast Guard Agency) headquarters in Warsaw Spire, Warsaw, Poland. Interior designers suggested using the whole door surface to display the icons. I used Fedra Sans, the corporate font for all Frontex publications, as the basis for the design. I made icons for the kitchen, silent-room, cloakroom, record studio, copy-room, IDF, first aid room, luggage-room, supply-room, archive, locker room, janitor's room, and 3 kinds of restrooms. In addition, I designed the room numbers and speaking bubbles to label meeting rooms.

The icons for the restrooms, luggage-room, cloakroom, translation booth, canteen and conference rooms with names set in Fedra Sans typeface were cut out in MDF panels and installed on the walls of two representative floors of the new Frontex HQ. My colleagues and I were also responsible for the manufacturing of these elements and supervision during their installation. We made a short video about the process that you can watch HERE
